First we went on a tour around the grounds of the vineyard, which were really beautiful. Then we watched the process of how the grapes get turned into wine, before going into the museum. In the museum, there's a room of aromas, where you can smell all the different scents that different varieties of wine have. Some were nice smells (e.g. strawberry), others weren't so pleasant (e.g. sulphur)! The other room in the museum was all about the culture of the Mapuche people, which was interesting to learn about.
Then it was time for the fun part of the tour - the wine tasting. We tried four different varieties, and I have to say I was pretty tipsy afterwards!
Now for some pictures of this very scenic vineyard:
I'll have more short posts like this coming soon about things I've done around Santiago (the Sky Costanera, Cerro Santa Lucía, and the crazy day climbing up and down Cerro Manquehue)... There will also be some more detailed posts about trips I've taken elsewhere in Chile (Algarrobo, Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, and the Maule region). It's been a very eventful couple of months!
